Brand personality is either the easiest thing to achieve or the hardest. It all depends on the type of person you are. Brand personality is exactly what it sounds like. The personality of your brand. When people like you, and become your friend, why is that? It is because of your character. How do people know they like you? When you’re open about your personality. Brand personality is all about the emotional connection that people will make with your brand. This is where your loyalty will come from. Imagine your brand as a person. What is their style of clothing? What is their tone of voice? What are their opinions? This is how I would brand a company.
This is your brand voice. The way you speak, the way you express yourself, the way you present your content. Your brand tone ties into your visual style and the way you say things. Whether it be playful, peaceful, sophisticated, or active, these are all tones that you could choose to use.
How you capture your brand visually is imperative. Even though we aren’t supposed to judge a book by its cover, we still do it anyways. It is psychologically proven that users respond more to visuals. Do your logo and patterns capture the essence of your product or service? Will it appeal to the masses? Depending on what your brand is, it is important to capture this feeling when producing your visuals. The worst thing you could do is have oxymoron branding that doesn’t make sense. People make these mistakes sometimes by not staying focused on the brand itself and going with what looks cool at the time or something that caters to themselves instead of the brand personality.
Nowadays, companies are more and more open about their opinions and statements. This is also a MAJOR part of brand loyalty. If you express what your brand stands for whether it be breast cancer awareness or your company is super liberal, or you individually stand for helping a particular charity, (these are just examples) you should express them! These statements will make the client feel closer to you and potentially relate. If you stand for a cause, which everyone does, be vocal about it. People will become attached to you as a business and also personally.
