The 5 Dumbest Social Media Trends In History

Whether you took part in them or not, over the past couple years, the internet has created some of the dumbest social media trends. Some of them were funny, some of them were dangerous, and some of them were disturbing this is our list of the worst social media trends.

The Fire Challenge
Okay, so this challenge was ridiculous, dangerous, and also disturbing. This was a challenging trend where people would light themselves on fire. I mean, how idiotic can you be? The person would douse themselves in gasoline and light themselves on fire, record it, and post it to social media. It got way too out of hand. See for yourself and search the fire challenge.

Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge
This one could take the cake. Women everywhere were sucking on a glass to inflate their lips like Kylie Jenner. I don’t know whether this is more amusing or disgusting. Either way, it proves that women will go far lengths to achieve what they think is the beauty. Girls everywhere had lips that were blown up outrageously.

The “Don’t Judge Me Challenge.”
This challenge was vain and pointless. It would show someone making their face disgusting withdrawn on flaws from sharpie and ridiculous hair and transform themselves into their hottest look in one video. This challenge was very dumb. It was only to fuel egos, go figure.

The Cinnamon Challenge
This challenge was very amusing but very dumb. The challenge was to take a spoonful of cinnamon and swallow it without throwing up or coughing it back up. Taking a spoonful of cinnamon without water is impossible. The videos of everyone coughing were hilarious, but this challenge goes down in history as one of the dumbest.

100 Layers Challenge
Wow, this one got out of hand. 100 layers, of anything. This challenge made people pile on 100 layers of clothing, lipstick, mascara, nail polish, anything. The results were creepy, but when I would watch all of these 100 layer challenges, I had a couple of things running through my head. “These people are wasteful.” “This is very time-consuming.” “Wow this is pointless, and I can’t stop watching.” I feel like everyone may have felt this way. These videos were very strange, dumb, and entertaining.
